The Wonder Weeks F.A.Q.

Does every baby develop exactly the same way?

Each baby develops at his or her own pace. Most babies will not show all the skills immediately during the leap itself.

Some skills from leap 3, for example, your baby will show in leap 3, but there will also be skills belonging to leap 3 that your baby won’t show until leap 4 or 5. Your baby will develop the skills that interest him/her most. One baby will develop motor skills first and speech and language a few weeks/months later. And another baby will do just the opposite.

Your baby ultimately decides which skills to develop and when. This is based on his/her interests. What interests him/her most he/she will explore and develop first. The cool thing is, that this allows you to recognize your child’s character at an early age.
